In order to meet with the ever-growing demand for part cost price reduction, the PCI range of machines is extended with the arrival, the second half of 2006 of twin-spindle high speed machining centres to boost the productivity of its customers' facilities.
The Meteor ML V4 Twin-spindle machining centre is the latest high-flyer of the PCI high speed machining centres. It stems from the V4 single spindle version whose footprint was recently optimised (30% reduction) along with the efficiency rate in association with the customers. Its field of excellence is in high added value aluminium parts.
PCI operation sheet studies show a significant gain in productivity for the twin-spindle ML compared to its single-spindle counterpart with the same footprint: this difference vouches for PCI's keeness to be proactive for its customers in reducing all the factors impacting the cost price of their products.
First delivery of the Twin-spindle ML in May 2007.
A second signed order incorporates 5-axis machining of the part thereby bringing down the number of part clamping positions and manipulations. This innovation can therefore be called a success: in this line of business where technological watch is key, PCI is eager for its customers and partners to avail of its innovations, responsiveness and flexibility.
The Twin-spindle range boasts the special ML features of a machining centre optimised for light metals :
